The aftermath of the fatal accident suffered in pre-racing testing the week before the GP by Peter Revson (USA) in his Shadow DN3. The car suffered a suspension failure and Revson was killed instantly when he went through the crash barrier.

Patrick Depailler (FRA) (Centre) climbs from his Tyrrell 007/2 after being T-boned by Jacky Ickx (BEL) Lotus 76 (Right) on lap 43 following a spin. Ironically Depailler came to rest a few yards from team mate Jody Scheckter (RSA) Tyrrell 007 (Left), who blew his engine on lap nine.
