Podium and results:
1st Jacques Laffite (FRA), Ligier, centre.
2nd Carlos Reutemann (ARG), Williams, left.
Third placed Alan Jones (AUS), Williams, boycotted the podium as Jean-Marie Belastre (FRA), FISA President, was present. Jones was still angry after the Spanish Grand Prix results, and therefore his win, were declared void by the FIA and FISA after the race was found to be illegal. This was a result of the ongoing FOCA/FISA war. Balestre is pictured far right.
