Gerhard Berger leads teammate Jean Alesi (both Ferrari 412T1B's), Ukyo Katayama (Tyrrell 022 Yamaha), Damon Hill (Williams FW16 Renault) and Michael Schumacher (Benetton B194 Ford) at the start. Behind Alessandro Zanardi (Lotus 109 Mugen-Honda) goes straight into the pit wall after being hit by Andrea de Cesaris. Behind him is Pierluigi Martini (Minardi M194 Ford). On the right is where Andrea de Cesaris (Sauber C13 Mercedes) ends up managing to take out Michele Alboreto in the other Minardi M194 Ford as well.
