#71 Spirit of Race Ferrari 488 GTE EVO of Franck Dezoteux, Pierre Ragues, Gabriel Aubry
Ronnie Peterson (SWE) Lotus 79 (Shown during practice) suffered severe leg injuries in an accident at the start of the race. Tragically a blood clot in hospital following an operation on his legs led to his untimely death.

A pre-race celebration photograph organised by Goodyear for Team Lotus who had secured the Constructors' Championship. Sixth placed Mario Andretti (USA) Lotus (Left) clinched the World Drivers' Championship tragically as a result of losing his team mate Ronnie Peterson (SWE) (Right) to a fatal accident at the start of the race. Some of the mechanics offer a cheeky 'V' sign!
