Race retiree Denny Hulme (NZL) McLaren M23 passes the distressing scene of David Purley (GBR) Lec being comforted by marshals who had failed to assist Purley in trying to save the life of Roger Williamson (GBR), who crashed his March 731 on the eighth lap and perished through asphyxiation in the fire that ensued.
