Non-Championship Formula One
When the opening practice session was curtailed following a dispute between FISA and FOCA, Williams and Brabham opted to play a game of football on the main start/finish straight. The meeting would later continue as a non-championship race, but without Ferrari, Renault, and Alfa Romeo.
