Jim Clark (GBR) Lotus 25, who claimed his first Grand Prix victory, leads team mate Trevor Taylor (GBR) Lotus24 and Willy Mairesse (BEL) Ferrari 156. Taylor and Mairesse would later collide and crash heavily, both though luckily escaping serious injury.
