Thierry Boutsen (Williams FW13B Renault) leads Ayrton Senna (McLaren MP4/5B Honda) and Alessandro Nannini (Benetton B190 Ford) towards the end of the race. Nannini would exit the race, but Boutsen and Senna finished in 1st and 2nd positions respectively.
