René Arnoux's wrecked Renault RE20 is recovered by marshals.
(L to R): Nelson Piquet (BRA) Brabham BT49, who retired from the race on lap 3 with a blown engine, passes Jean-Pierre Jabouille (FRA) Renault RE20 after Nelson hit him at the hairpin during practice. Jabouille crashed in the race and suffered severe leg injuries.
