Virginia Williams (GBR) collects the Constructor's trophy on behalf of her husband Frank Williams (GBR) Williams Team Owner, who was recovering after his car accident, and in doing so became the first woman to collect the trophy on a Formula One podium.

The provisional podium (L to R): James Hunt (GBR) McLaren, winner; Niki Lauda (AUT) Ferrari, second; Jody Scheckter (RSA) Tyrrell, third. The presentation took place at 5:46pm after protests over Hunt's victory were originally rejected. However, Hunt was disqualified on appeal in September for allegedly not running when the race was stopped on the opening lap: promoting Scheckter to second place and Lauda became the winner.
