Helmeted Nelson Piquet (BRA) informs the media of the drivers unwillingness to race in the terrible conditions. However when the race started, only Alain Prost (FRA) (Centre) made the brave decision to withdraw. Piquet raced and was lucky to survive a terrifying crash.
