Juan Pablo Montoya (COL), BMW Williams FW25, and Rubens Barrichello (BRA), Ferrari F2003-GA, head into turn 1 side by side where they made contact. Barrichello entered the gravel trap backwards and retired from the race while Montoya was handed a drive through penalty.
