Formula One World Championship: Mark Donohue (USA) Penske Racing Cars March 751, suffered a massive crash following a tyre failure at the Hella Licht Curve during practice. Although initially conscious, Donohue tragically died on the Tuesday following the race with a brain haemorrhage, and a marshal was killed too at the scene of the accident.
