A service of remembrance attended by Bette Hill (GBR) was held at the race to celebrate the life of Graham Hill (GBR), whose death was commemorated by dedicating the International Trophy in his name.

Tragically, just weeks later, Hill, Brise, Smallman and two mechanics were killed in a plane crash at Arkley Golf Course, nr Barnet, on 29 November 1975.
